The board provides strategic oversight, fiduciary accountability, and organizational governance — ensuring that Cherub's Inn operates with transparency, sustainability, and faithfulness to the families we exist to serve.
Board members are appointed in accordance with our organizational bylaws and serve in a voluntary capacity. Together, they are responsible for setting the direction of the organization, approving annual budgets, reviewing program outcomes, and ensuring the long-term health of the charity.

Understanding How Cherub's Inn is Funded
We believe transparency is part of what it means to be a trustworthy charity. Here is a clear picture of how Cherub's Inn is funded and how that funding is structured across our programs.
Cherub's Inn is a community-supported charity. The majority of our operational funding comes from individual donors, corporate sponsors, community grants, and fundraising events. This includes the Maternity House and the development of our Infant Care nursery, neither of which receive government program funding. These branches depend entirely on the generosity of our community to operate.
Government funding applies exclusively to our licensed Daycare. As a licensed childcare provider in British Columbia, Cherub's Inn Daycare receives provincial government funding through established childcare programs and subsidy frameworks. This funding supports the operation of the daycare only and is governed by separate licensing and reporting requirements administered by the Province of BC.
We want to be clear about this distinction because we think donors and community members deserve an accurate picture of how their contributions are used. When you give to Cherub's Inn, your gift supports our Maternity House and broader charitable programs — not the daycare, which receives its own designated funding stream.
A note on registered charity status: Cherub's Inn operates as the National Family Support and Restoration Non-Profit Society, a registered Canadian charity (CRA #743963936RR0001). All donations are eligible for a charitable tax receipt.
